Adhesive System
Achieve the perfect application of edge banding with the CONTURO's advanced electronically controlled adhesive system, which applies the correct amount of glue every time for optimal adhesion and quick drying.
Loading glue pucks or changing adhesive colors is a quick, easy, mess-free process. Only the adhesive needed is heated, preventing discoloration and allowing for quick warm up times.
The quantity of glue applied can be easily adjusted from the display interface, which also shows the amount of banding that can be applied with the glue in the machine. So, you don't accidentally run out.
The silicon drip cup catches any extra glue and is easy to clean.
Adhesive Colors
The Festool CONTURO Edge Bander uses hot melt glue pucks, which are offered in a variety of colors to match your application and edge banding. Currently, adhesive is available in black, brown, natural and white.
The machine takes about 8-10 minutes for the adhesive to be ready to use when first turned on. Even quicker if you've recently used the edge bander.
Changing colors is a quick, mess-free process that only takes minutes.
Glue is evenly distributed, preventing waste while optimizing adhesion and drying time.
Edge Banding a Radius or Corner
Curves add a touch of elegance to a piece, but are a challenge for edge banding. But not with the CONTURO Edge Bander.
The CONTURO is capable of applying edge banding to a curved edge with an inside diameter as small as two inches. Of course, outside radii can also be edge banded quickly and easily with no adjustments to the machine.
Inside corners are equally as easy with the CONTURO.
Feedback at Your Fingertips
The CONTURO Edge Bander features an LCD electronic display to keep you informed and to configure the machine. The display has information that shows how much edge banding you can apply with the amount of hot melt adhesive currently in the machine, the current temperature, and the speed setting (slow or fast).The four option buttons below the display allow you to configure the settings for the CONTURO edge bander. Adjust the temperature, amount of adhesive being applied, metric or imperial measurements, and other settings. The display also shows important information, such as when the edge banding has been properly inserted and is ready. The display is red on the machine during the roughly 8-10 minute warm up period.
Edge Banding Station
With the optional CONTURO MFT/3 Table, you can convert the CONTURO into an edge banding station. Perfect for working on small pieces that would otherwise be hard to navigate with the CONTURO in its handheld configuration. The station is also well-suited for working with beveled edges.
The CONTURO can be installed into the table in just a few seconds and then removed again for a quick transition between handheld and stationary use.

The Edge Trimming Kit is a collection of accessories for the CONTURO Edge Bander and other components to help you achieve the perfect edge. These products are available individually, but the Edge Trimming Kit is the most cost effective way to purchase.

The Edge Trimming Kit consists of:
Edge Banding Trimmer
Cuts edge banding for flawless seams up to 2-9/16" (65mm) tall and up to 2mm thick (depending on material). Cuts right and left sides as well as circular edging applications. The trimmer is designed to enable perfect alignment of the beginning and ending of edge banding on a circular work piece. Ergonomic handle location for easy, effortless trimming, even on thick edge banding.
Edge Bander Magazine Reel
Make working with long strips of edge banding a breeze with the optional CONTURO edge banding magazine. Capable of holding up to 26 feet (8m) of edge banding up to 2mm thick and 1-3/4" (45mm) tall. The magazine attaches to the CONTURO Edge Bander without
the need for tools.
Edge Banding Carbide Scraper
Use the Festool carbide scraper for breaking edges, smoothing curves and cleaning thin plastic edges. Solid carbide ensures greater durability and resistance to wear. Smooth imperfections left by cutters during the routing process with three detents made specifically for 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm radii. Use the scraper to also ensure flush trimming of plastic edge banding.
CONTURO Auxiliary Roller
Use the Auxiliary Roller with the CONTURO Edge Bander when applying thick or brittle edge banding and when working with tight curves. The roller offers an additional pressure point on the edge banding while being applied.
CONTURO StickFix Base
The optional StickFix Base for the CONTURO Edge Bander helps protect delicate or high-gloss surfaces from scratches with an attached replaceable felt pad.
